Your best round at Claystone.
I thought this might be a fun topic.
As of now my best round at Tornado Alley has been a 5 under par.
6 birds on the front.
1 bird on the back
and a bogey each on 16 and 17.
If my memory is right it was on the wensday before the tornado.

Re: Your best round at Claystone.
My best round post tornado was one over. I did it with 5 birds, 4 bogeys all on the back, and a double bogey on 15. I think I should be able to do better now that the fairways are cleared, but 14 and 18 still give me fits.
Wow
What kind of genetic freak are you cornbread??? That is an awesome round! Best i have gotten is about 1 over with 3 birdies on the front 9. It was only my second time on the course and 3rd ever.

I live less than a mile from claystone and I play there all the time, usually about 3 or 4 times a week, sometimes 3+ rounds a day. Matter of fact I think I'm gonna go play one in a few min. I work on the weekends so during the week I have a lot of free time and nothing better to do, so I get lots of practice.

Still a Freak none the less
Regardless He is still a freak. I believe my best round is one under. I'm due to break my best in the front 9 is 5 under and my best on the back is 3 under. I've birdie all the front , 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. But can't do it all at the same time. I believe the course recored stands at 7 under for the day.

Because doubles is played so much at Claystone, what is the best one round doubles score?
my best double round.
A few weeks ago, jmjoseph and myself had an eight under round. I belive it was 6 birds on the front and 2 on the back, and no bogeys.

Re: Your best round at Claystone.
The best round I ever witnessed at Claystone was by a guy named Walter from Florida. He was passing through on his way back home from Atlanta. This was spring 08, he scored a 45. He had nine birds, and nine pars. This guy has been playing since 1983, has played at least 200 courses, and had 36 aces. I kept score, and was amazed at most of his tee shots, he had three "parked" under the baskets, with an additional two "leaners" on the posts. He said Claystone was a good "starter" course. I say I'm proud to have it. Kudos to John H. J.M.Joseph

Re: Your best round at Claystone.
John knows I jest.
but it brings up a good point. We better get all the birds we can on 7 now because if it is lengthened to a new position we may be adding +1 to our current scores.

Had a good round today.
Not quiet my best round, but I did tie my previous best.
3 birds on the front.
4 birds on the back, along with 2 bogeys.
The weather was also perfect. Truly a beautiful day. It only made the round that much more enjoyable.

Re: Your best round at Claystone.
Yeah, I have not had time to post that. Thanks, for the help. I was a little confused about how,& what to sign. I know that it was aced while it was lying on the ground after the tornado's. I myself aced it while it was down, but it kindof skiped to contact so I marked it an ace on the card but did not sign the basket. I just felt that although it was an ace for the round, it really was'nt an "ace" on an undamaged hole. That's just me, what do you guy's think? I belive that #7 will be under the same set of cicumstances, being aced while lying on the ground. I was unsure of any protocol that may be or not be in place. Maybe a little DISCussion will enlighten us all.
Also, do you sign 1st ace when it's the first ace on any one hole?, or just when it's your first ace?
I guess this is not a bad thing to have to wonder, but still I wonder. If you care to put in your 2 cents, then we'll have 4 cents between us and we still can't afford those nickel thoughts I've been hearing about.

To sign or not to sign
I don't think there is a rule that makes it appropriate or inappropriate. I think if you ace one and it hasn't been signed then sign it. If it has then just mark you disc. There is always a chance that someone else has aced it berfore and didn't sign it but in the grand scheme of things I don't think it matters either way. I don't think we should sign every time we get an ace because eventually the baskets will look all marked up but really that probably doesnt matter either. I am conviced now that every hole at Claystone can be aced, with #17 being the toughest but I've been able to lay a couple of there pretty close lately and I think within another year or as the tournaments get going this year we are going to see it happen.
