New Course in Macon

Great News! Mike Anthony the Director of Macon Parks and Recreation is having the City Engineers map out an area below the Softball fields in Macon's Central City Park for a new Disc Golf Course. I'll let you all in on the details as things develop. We very well may have two courses in Macon by the end of the year. I've been unable to cut and past a picture of the area here but if you go to Yahoo Maps or Google Earth and enter Central City Park Macon GA, then scroll southeast you will see a large group of trees below the softball fields that somewhat looks like a bowtie or chevy emblem. We don't know how much of it we will get but the goal is to build a longer course than what we have at Claystone. And this course will most likely be primarily in the woods. We are also working on the installation of a 9 hole course in Tatnall Square Park but nothing has been agreed upon yet so keep your Fingers crossed.

Design begins this weekend!

As I remember, after years of playing football, softball and various other activities in and around CCP, I noticed that sections of the park were prone to flooding. Some parts were worse than others and some of the spots that use to flood seem to have been fixed. I was just wondering if the course site is in or near one of these areas?

Does anyone have information on the new course(s) in Macon?

No info as of yet. Infact design and construction has ground to a halt. I'm having to spend to much time at work to move forward at the moment. So be patient and we will get moving again asap.
